London African Food Week is back for its third edition, running from Sunday 25th May to Saturday 31st May 2025, and once again turning the capital into a vibrant hub of African culinary culture. Kicking on Africa Day, the weeklong festival will celebrate the depth and diversity of African foodways through immersive experiences, tastings, and a bold commitment to spotlighting African food culture on the world stage.
This year’s highlights include:
- Bottomless Plantain Brunch – a high-energy opening celebration of Africa’s most iconic staple
- African Rum Festival – showcasing bold, rich spirits from across the continent and diaspora
- Coffee & Chocolate Festival – a sweet finale showcasing two of Africa’s greatest exports
New for 2025, London African Food Week will debut the Dine African! Restaurant Directory, a curated guide to African-owned restaurants and food businesses across London. Designed to empower locals and visitors to explore African cuisine during the week and beyond, the directory is part of the festival’s wider mission to create lasting impact and visibility for African food in the UK.
Beyond food and drink, the week will also feature chef residencies, panel talks, pop-ups, and collaborations with African-led brands across fashion, art, and design.
“London African Food Week is about more than taste, it’s about recognition, access, and celebration,” says Tokunbo Koiki, founder of the event and recent speaker at the UN Africa Gastronomy Tourism Forum. “By launching the Dine African! directory, weare giving people the tools to support African food culture all year round.”
